Redeployment Ceremony

We had a really good time today!  The ceremony was nice...Larry was one of the few wounded soldiers asked to uncase the colors for the unit which was really special for him.  =o)  In case you are not familiar with military customs, there are ceremonies for everything!  When the unit deploys, they case the units colors or guidon for the deployment and they uncase it overseas.  Then the case it back up there and uncase it when they get back here.  (I hope theat made sense..LOL)  It's a pretty big honor to be asked to uncase it-it's usually the unit commander-but they asked some of the wounded soldiers to do it today.  It was really neat for Larry to be asked.

Then we went to this big bash for the brigade.  They had all kinds of stuff.  There were some wrestlers from the WWE, some football players and a bunch of cheerleaders from different teams...LOL  Of course the guys were having a great time!  LOL  There was live music, games for the kids.....it was really very nice.  Larry got a lot of autographs and pics.   He got to see a lot of people that he hadn't seen since Iraq and they were all soooo happy to see him up and walking and doing pretty well.  Last time most of them saw him was the day of the bombing and he didn't look so good then.  =o(  They were just really happy to see him.

We got to see his unit and the brigade commanders.  They were glad to talk to him and see that he was doing okay.

We did lots of stuff for Hero to Hero since this was one of the adopted Brigades...you'll see some pics of the banner and Shertz.  For more info on Hero to Hero...click on the link in my favorite link section!  All the angels also got a Stryker coin from COL Brown, the brigade commander...you'll see pics of him with Larry in here too!

Well, I'm tired and I have to work in the morning.  Larry's going to have another surgery on Wednesday again so keep him in your prayers!
